Minor derailment at Carrington 21/12/16

Today at Carrington, there was a minor derailment of a WGBY 01005K grain hopper

4911 AND 4917 clear the remaining wagons

Just after disconnecting the derailed wagon

A shot showing the grain spill

This shot just shows the closest bogie in the dirt

A pic showing the chains just after being attached

The last pic of the crane attempting to lift the hopper but unfortunately it had a bit of trouble and I had to leave after a while...

UGL recent happenings

In recent months some Tangara trains have been receiving some attention

For a short time these narrow gauge UGL class locos were painted in this
 green and blue UGL scheme
And then they were repainted in PacNat blue and yellow
Fresh from South Australia, a few GWU came back to the Hunter
to join the XRNs for Glencore on coal trains

Two unnumbered C44aci locos, probably going to become a PacNat
93 class

I think this is a nose cone off an Oscar car

Last but not least an almost complete 93 class

Motive Power Centre Dry Creek S.A. (The Missus is interstate still)

Well the Missus made the most out of her Adelaide journey with a
quick trip to Dry Creek

An over view of some of the Motive Power Centre at Dry Creek
ALF20 stabled in the rain
Once AL23 and then renumbered ALF22 when it was modified with a
new engine and blocking off the number two end

Two former NSWGR 422 class locos 2210/2207 now owned by
Genesee and Wyoming Australia

I am not sure what the codes are of these wagons but the load is interesting and
830 bogie with 2207 in the background
GM42/GM??/GM40 waiting for their next job

GM47 in orange and black and GM46 showing its age with
Commonwealth Railways colours peaking through

Former S.A.R. Bluebird Rail car converted to a crew car

Islington Railway Workshops (The Missus is interstate)

Recently my missus went to Adelaide for an engagement party and while she was there she managed to squeeze in a couple of sneaky train hunts, while North of the City.. These pics were taken at the former Islington Workshops where there are still a few things sitting around the yard, including 6 Heritage Listed Buildings. Such a shame to see what was once a thriving place in the past, now basically abandoned.

Former NSWGR 45 class 4537 rebuilt with a rebuilt cab,
numbered 103 and owned by Patrick Ports (good to see some
interstate ALCO's)
Broad gauge 704 stored in the Islington Yard for Tranvolution

Baggage/Break van OWR-392 still in a faded Jubilee trade train colour
wit the former Foundry behind it
Islington Railway Workshops Chief Mechanical Engineer's Office
With the heritage listed Fabrication Shops in the back ground
704 rests stored in the sun

All photos taken by the Missus
Stay tuned as there is another one of her Adelaide train hunts,
 which will be posted soon
